Congressional candidate Victoria Wulsin: Campaign photoPolitickerOH.com has learned that the campaign of Dr. Victoria Wulsin (D-Indian Hill) in Ohio's second Congressional district has raised a little over $308,000 in the second quarter. The campaign has an estimated $378,000 in cash on hand.
Wulsin is running against incumbent U.S. Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland) for the seat. Schmidt's fundraising numbers were unavailable as of this report. Other campaigns are generally expected to release their figures and statements around July 15.
PolitickerOH.com learned that the average Wulsin donation was estimated at $162, and 77 percent of funds have been raised from individuals in the second quarter. June looked like it was the best month for the Wulsin campaign, with an estimated $180,000 coming in during that month.
Through March 31, the Wulsin campaign had reported $771,471 in total receipts, with $699,811 of that coming through individual contributions. Schmidt had reported $566,577 in total receipts, with $360,884 coming through individual contributions through March 31.
Wulsin communications director Kevin Franck spoke about the numbers.
"We have built remarkable momentum in the last few months as people have rejected Jean Schmidt's reckless disregard for the truth and embraced our message that Washington should be accountable to the people again."
