Attorney Sharen Neuhardt (D-Yellow Springs) is out with a second attack ad on state Sen. Steve Austria (R-Beavercreek), hitting him on the issue of jobs leaving Ohio.
The ad is reflective of others being run by the Ohio Democratic Party blaming Republican leadership for the loss of jobs in Ohio.
"Steve Austria had ten years to get it right yet Ohio's economy is on the wrong track," said Neuhardt spokesperson Jessica Kershaw. "Sharen's new TV ad shows just exactly who Austria left behind when he consistently voted against the interests of Ohio's working families."
The 30-second television ad entitled ‘Here' portrays Ohio workers who have lost their jobs, the Neuhardt campaign says, "because of career politicians like Steve Austria who blindly supported former Governor Bob Taft's indifferent Republican policies."
A report released by the ODP prior to releasing their ad focused on Ohio's economy over the past eight years. The report said that more than 180,000 Ohioans have lost their jobs and nearly 1,100 factories and companies have closed because of failed Republican policies in Washington.
Neuhardt and Austria are vying to replace retiring U.S. Rep. David Hobson (R-Springfield) in Ohio's 7th Congressional District.
Austria responded to a previous Neuhardt ad hitting him for the same thing by saying he was disappointed that Neuhardt was going negative instead of talking about the issues. Austria made the remarks while touting an internal poll showing him winning by 24pts. in the race.
