The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 passed in the House of Representatives, after being revised by the U.S. Senate, by a vote of 263 to 171 Friday afternoon.
Ohio's delegation to the House had 10 Yea votes compared to 7 Nays.
Voting in favor of the bill were U.S. Reps. John Boehner (R-West Chester), David Hobson (R-Springfield), Ralph Regula (R-Navarre), Deborah Pryce (R-Columbus), Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland), Pat Tiberi (R-Westerville), Zack Space (D-Dover), Betty Sutton (D-Copley Township), Charlie Wilson (D-St. Clairsville) and Tim Ryan (D-Niles).
Voting against the legislation wer Reps. Steve Chabot (R-Westwood), Steve LaTourette (R-Chagrin Falls), Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green), Jim Jordan (R-Urbana), Michael Turner (R-Centerville), Marcy Kaptur (D-Toledo) and Dennis Kucinich (D-Cleveland).
Six Republicans voted in favor of the bill, along with four Democrats. Five Republicans voted against the legislation, along with two Democrats.
Both Ohio Senators Sherrod Brown (D-Lorain) and George Voinovich (R-Cleveland) voted in favor of the bill in the Senate.
House members who previously voted against the bill, but now support it, include Schmidt, Sutton and Tiberi.
