Bruce Springsteen will be in Columbus on Sunday to perform an acoustic set as part of a rally on the The Ohio State University campus to encourage Barack Obama supporters to register and take advantage of Ohio's early voting period.
Springsteen will appear at OSU's Main Oval for an event to highlight Ohio's early voting window, which allows voters to cast their ballots in person at designated early voting locations.
The rally, which will be held the day before Ohio's voter registration deadline, will also encourage attendees to register to vote for the first time, or update their registration.
Springsteen endorsed Obama in April as the Democratic nominee for president, writing that Obama, "speaks to the America I've envisioned in my music...a country that's interested in its collective destiny and in the potential of its gathered spirit."
"Senator Obama is a great fan of Bruce Springsteen and is honored to have his support," said Aaron Pickrell, the Ohio State Director of the Obama-Biden campaign. "His presence at the rally will provide our campaign with the opportunity to mobilize tens of thousands of our supporters in one place to go out and vote early, as well as to register new voters and sign up new volunteers who will help our campaign for change send Barack Obama to the White House."
Gates open at 3:00 PM on Sunday and the program will begin at 4:30 PM.
For access to the best viewing area, preferred tickets will be distributed at Obama Campaign for Change offices from 5:00 - 8:00 PM beginning Thursday, October 2, and 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Thursday through the weekend.
Tickets will also be distributed at a Campaign for Change table at Genoa Park, across from the Columbus Early Vote location at Franklin County Veterans Memorial, beginning Thursday, October 2, from 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, and Saturday, October 3, from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
