Cafaro to move up in leadership, Dale Miller slated to take over as Assistant Minority Whip

PolitickerOH.com has learned the likely shuffling of Senate minority leadership following the appointment of State Sen. and Minority Whip Lance Mason (D-Cleveland) to to the Cuyahoga Court of Common Pleas by Gov. Ted Strickland (D-Lisbon) on Monday.

It looks likely, though still unofficial, that state Sen. and Assistant Minority Whip Capri Cafaro (D-Hubbard) will move up to Minority Whip, while state Sen. Dale Miller (D-Cleveland) is slated to take her position as Assistant Minority Whip.

Senate Minority leader Ray Miller (D-Columbus) reportedly called Dale Miller to inform him of the decision. No official moves have been made as Mason has yet to resign.

If Mason waits until the first week in September to resign to take his new position then Democrats can avoid a special election to replace him.
